GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Public LIbrary forgave fines totaling more than $7,800 during National Library Week.
The fine forgiveness program April 23-29 forgave fines on 2,102 items and welcomed back 215 patrons to the libraries in Greenfield and New Palestine. The goal of the week was to welcome back patrons who may have had fines on their account that blocked access to library resources, according to a press release from the HCPL.
