Library to host book sale this week

GREENFIELD – The Friends of the Hancock County Public Library will have a gently used book sale from May 11–15 (excluding Sunday) in the library’s GBC Community Room in Greenfield. The Friends also offer audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and video games. Proceeds from the sale fund free concerts and children’s special events at the library.

Members of the Friends may shop their members-only sale from 6-7:45 p.m. May 11; walk-ins can join the non-profit organization at a cost of $15 and shop the preview that night. Pick up a membership form on the Friends’ shelves near the entrance at either library building.

The sale opens to the public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 12; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 13. The library will be closed May 14 for Mother’s Day. Most hardbacks cost $1, and paperbacks cost 50 cents. Children’s books are 50 cents and 25 cents. DVDs, CDs, video games and audiobooks are $1.

Bargain day is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 15 A standard paper grocery bag full of books sells for $3, a plastic grocery bag for $2.
