GFT crews called to water rescue

GREENFIELD — Officials with the Greenfield Fire Territory were called to a water rescue incident at 1882 Muskegon Lane Friday afternoon around 1:15 p.m. Public Information Officer Luke Eichholtz said there is a pond just south of the address where a vehicle was located. It was reported two people were in the vehicle. Eichholtz noted bystanders were able to assist one of victims out of the vehicle prior to their arrival. However, the other person had to be removed by GFT personnel due to injuries and was then transported by ambulance to IU Methodist in Indianapolis. The first person who got out of the vehicle was checked out by GFT crews and released at the scene while the condition of the second person who needed more medical aid is not known at this time.
