GREENFIELD
Ruth A. (Huck) Holzer, age 86, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Woodland Terrace of Danville. She was born in Beech Grove on February 6, 1937 to Edward P. Huck and Margaret A. (Hurrle) Huck. She graduated from Southport High School with the class of 1955. On December 29, 1956, Ruth married Francis J. Holzer in Indianapolis.For many years, she worked in customer service at Insight Communication. Ruth was a member at St. Michael Catholic Church and St. Thomas Catholic Church. Ruth enjoyed showing Great Danes and was a member of the Hoosier Great Dane Club. In her free time, she loved knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children, Margaret (Gary) Thomas of Lebanon, Jude (Debra) Holzer of Council Bluff, IA, Anthony (Kerri) Holzer of El Cajon, CA, and Kathryn (Keny) Lilly of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marcella Miceli of Beech Grove and Veronica Huck of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret; husband, Francis; and siblings, Ed Huck, Ronald Huck, Rosemund Comely, MaryAnna Leeds and Dorothy Kiser.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will be held at Park Cemetery on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. Deacon Frank Klauder will be officiating.
