Dance club to sponsor craft fair

GREENFIELD – The 37th annual Riley Wranglers Arts and Craft Fair is coming up.

The event, sponsored by the Riley Wranglers Square Dance Club, will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St., Greenfield. The fair will include more than 100 booths of arts, crafts, baked goods, home improvement items and more, as well as food trucks.

Gardening groups to host plant sale

GREENFIELD – The annual plant sale of the Hancock County Herb Society and Master Gardener Association will be May 5-6. The event will feature expert advice and selections of a large array of plant choices: the herb society offers a variety of culinary, medical, decorative and craft-use herbs along with tomatoes, peppers and perennials. Master gardeners offer an extensive variety of perennials, vegetable plants, geraniums, begonias and house plants.

Hours of the sale are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 5 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds 4-H Show Arena on the southwest corner of Apple and Park streets. Pre-sale orders may be placed April 25-May 2 at hancockmga.com and picked up during the plant sale. Credit and debit cards are accepted. Flower planting event coming up

GREENFIELD – A flower planting party is planned for April 26, offering an opportunity for anyone to take home a container and for little ones to learn about flowers.

The event, hosted by Hancock County Extension Homemakers, is at 6 p.m. April 26 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds exhibit building, 620 Apple St., Greenfield. There will be a light meal (bring your own beverage) followed by planting a container; all supplies are furnished for participants to take home.

Cost is $5 and reservations are due by April 24 by calling Debbie Elsbury, 317-697-0346 or by email, [email protected]. Mail your $5 per person, non-refundable payment to Debbie Elsbury, 528 E. 700N., Fortville, IN 46040 along with your name, email and phone number.

School supply drive underway

MCCORDSVILLE – A school supply drive for next school year is already starting up. Blue Angel Connect is collecting school supplies for a backpack giveaway for the 2023-24 school year. The backpacks and supplies will be given to Hancock County elementary school students who would otherwise struggle to purchase them. Visit blueangelconnect.org for a link to the wish list to purchase items online; the items will be sent directly to Blue Angel Connect to be organized and distributed. The drive will continue through July 7.
