Editor’s note: The Daily Reporter is featuring local recipes and the stories behind them. Here, Sarah Burnett, a member of Hearts and Home Homemakers club in Greenfield, shares Britney Fraley’s recipe for easy cheesy potatoes.

“This side dish would pair nicely with your Easter ham and the kids can easily help,” Burnett writes. “Ellieanne and Ava were both able to help me cut the potatoes, add the cheese and learn how to follow a simple recipe. Any time in the kitchen together is well spent making memories and learning life-long skills.”

Easy Cheesy Potatoes

3 pounds of potatoes

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 packet ranch seasoning mix

1 cup milk

4 Tb. butter

Salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Wash and cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. In a 9 by 13 pan, layer half of the potatoes. Sprinkle half of the cheese on top and season with salt and pepper. Cover with remaining potatoes, cheese and salt and pepper again. Mix the ranch packet with the milk and pour over the potatoes. Put slices of butter on the top. Cover and bake for 45 minutes to one hour.
