Love Thy Neighbor event April 14

GREENFIELD – The annual Love Thy Neighbor Banquet benefiting local organizations is scheduled for April 14 at Mt. Comfort Church.

The event by Love in the Name of Christ, will feature speakers and participation by the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen and Changing Footprints. More information, tickets and sponsorships are available now at loveinc-ghc.org.

Spring farmers markets coming to McCordsville, Fortville

MCCORDSVILLE – Farmers markets in Fortville and McCordsville are opening up next month, and organizers are now accepting applications for vendors.

The Fortville Farmers Market will open 4-7 p.m. April 27 in the downtown district. An application for vendors is at fortvillefarmersmarket.com.

The Market in McCordsville will open April 30, with additional spring markets May 21 and June 11 at 7724 Depot St., McCordsville. Pinwheel community event coming up

GREENFIELD – Blue pinwheels promoting a safe childhood will abound in an upcoming event. The pinwheel is the national symbol of a safe and joyful childhood, and April is Prevent Child Abuse month. Hancock 4 Kids is encouraging people to wear blue and stop by the parking lot of 312 E. Main St. between noon and 2 p.m. March 31 to pick up a free pinwheel.

Then, join in for a Pinwheel Community Event for Prevention April 4. Hancock 4 Kids, Firefly Children and Family Alliance, Zoey’s Place, the Indiana Department of Child Services and the Hancock County Public Library will have an evening of awareness, pinwheel planting, crafts, games and free food. The event is 5-7 p.m. April 4 in the Hancock County Public Library’s community room, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. For updates and details, visit facebook.com/hancockcountychildren.
