GREENFIELD
Betty Jane (VanOsdol) (Mann) Lyskowinski, age 80, passed away Monday, March 6, at her home in Greenfield, Indiana. Born on November 17, 1942 in New Castle, Indiana, she was the daughter of Robert and Maxine (Lee) VanOsdol. She graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Indiana. Betty married David Mann on September 17, 1961 in Arlington, Indiana. She married Dr. Edwin Lyskowinski on November 25, 2002 in Hawaii.
She was a longtime member of Arlington Christian Church and attended Park Chapel Christian Church. Before retiring she worked for Rush County Schools and Greenfield Middle School. Betty enjoyed shopping and traveling, especially to Naples, Florida. She volunteered numerous hours in the gift shop at Hancock Regional Hospital, sewing with the Unravel Club at Park Chapel and knitting with her knitting group. Betty was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed talking about her family and was happiest when spending time just “visiting” with them.
Betty is survived by her husband of 20 years, Dr. Edwin Lyskowinski of Greenfield, Indiana; daughter, Lori (Scott) Halterman of Columbus, Indiana; son, Scott (Kathy) Mann of Arlington, Indiana; grandchildren, Kyle (Jill) Halterman of Seymour, Indiana, Emily (Aaron) Nutterfield of Columbus, Indiana, Alyson (Lars) Feste and Kayla (William Anderson) Halterman of Indianapolis, Indiana and Zoe Mann of Arlington, Indiana; great- grandchildren, Liam and Lyla Halterman of Seymour, Indiana; step-daughters, Kim (Jim) Nicholson of New Castle, Indiana and Kristin (Marty) Cless of Evanston, Illinois; step grandchildren, Jake and Kristin Nicholson of New Castle, Indiana, Andrew, Matthew and William Cless of Evanston, Illinois; brother, David (Tanya) VanOsdol of Arlington, Indiana; nieces, Amy (Alex) Brady of Long Beach, Mississippi and Rachel (Hobert) Hurst of Arlington, Indiana; nephew, Jason VanOsdol of Arlington, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maxine VanOsdol; first husband, David Mann and brother, Robert A. VanOsdol.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, Indiana. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be at 1:00 on Friday, March 10 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory. Burial will follow at Arlington East Hill Cemetery in Arlington, Indiana.
