Local vocal group to host professional development workshop

GREENFIELD – Music educators and choir directors are invited to attend a workshop coming up, hosted by the Hancock County Children’s Choir.

The February 2023 Professional Enrichment Workshop will feature guest clinician Amy Fata, and the theme of the event is “Pursuing Extraordinary.”

Fata, of Noblesville, is a singer and has been performing publicly since age 3. She has ministered in music around the country and Europe with her husband and pianist, Patrick.

As a composer, Fata has a wide repertoire of solos, congregational songs and choral works. She has been a choral conductor on the faculties of Noblesville High School and Taylor University and is currently head of the choral program at Highlands Latin School in Carmel.

The event is Feb. 11 at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield. Cost is $10 and a professional development certificate is available upon request.

Sessions include technique for elementary students at 9:45 a.m., professional development workshop question-and-answer session at 10:15 a.m. and technique demonstration for secondary students at 11 a.m.
