Christmas tree events benefit Octagon House

SHIRLEY – The 23rd annual Christmas Tree Walk is at the historic Octagon House in Shirley is happening on select Friday and Saturdays in December.

The walk is open 4-8 p.m. Dec. 2, Dec. 3, Dec. 9 and Dec. 10. Tours are free; there will be food on site with proceeds benefiting the restoration of the Octagon House. The first weekend will include chicken and noodles, dessert and drink at $14, and includes a visit with Santa Claus. The second weekend will feature soup, sandwich, dessert and a drink for $12.

Santa mailboxes at local parks

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Parks and Recreation is encouraging local children to write a letter to Santa and get a response in the mail.

Any child who writes a letter and includes a self-addressed stamped envelope and drops it in a designated mailbox may get a response mailed back. Santa mailboxes are located at Depot Street Park and the Patricia Elmore Center in Riley Park. Letters should be in the mailbox between Nov. 28-Dec. 18.

G-CHS bazaar this weekend

GREENFIELD – The Greenfield-Central High School Holiday Bazaar is 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3, offering local residents an opportunity to shop among local crafters and vendors while also benefiting high school students.

The event, at the high school, raises money for school groups. Santa will be at the library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and food will be sold on site. Admission is free.
