HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Commissioners intend to vote on a new comprehensive plan for the county at their Nov. 29 meeting.

If approved, it will be officials’ guide for making decisions concerning development and infrastructure over the next 20 years. The document includes future land use recommendations, a thoroughfare plan and economic development strategy. It’s available at futurehancock.com.

The county commissioners’ Nov. 29 meeting will start at 8 a.m., but where the comprehensive plan will appear on the agenda remains to be determined. Agendas are posted ahead of meetings at hancockin.gov/310/Commissioners.

The Hancock County Area Plan Commission gave the plan a positive recommendation last month.

Efforts on the plan have been underway for over a year involving a consulting firm, local steering committee and public feedback.
