CARTHAGE
Jolanda Lee (Rodgers) Brown, age 79, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Indianapolis on February 19, 1943 to Harold Rodgers and Edna (LaMaster). She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. In December of 1965, Jolanda married Walter A. Brown.
For many years, she worked in the accounting department for Thompson Consumer Electronics in Indianapolis. Jolanda was an active member at Charlottesville United Methodist Church and enjoyed supporting her church in any way she could. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, boating and fishing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family that she loved dearly.
Jolanda is survived by her loving daughters, Marie Brickles (Morton) of Greenfield and Valeria Brown of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Hawkins and Blake and Travis Pleak; great-grandchildren, Jayla and Gabriel “Gabe” Pleak; sister, Debbie Brooks (Charles) of Rockville, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edna; husband, Walter; sister, Barbara Feinstone-Ward; stepfather, Karl Schreiner; and brother, Tommy Schreiner.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Debb Ebersole officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
