GREENFIELD — The city of Greenfield will shut down Franklin Street from New Road to CR 300N starting Aug. 29 until completion of construction activities or until Sept. 2, whichever comes first.
There will be soft closures at the intersections of Franklin Street/New Road and Franklin Street/CR 300N. There will a hard closure just north of the Greenfield Self Storage driveway and a hard closure just south of the residential driveways of Webb and Smith for southbound traffic. Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained. Emergency services will be able to travel through the closure. Through-traffic should use State Street or CR 200N to cross Interstate 70.
Closing the road significantly reduces the amount of time the contractor needs to complete the work, reduces the impact to traffic, and is safer for both the contractor and the motoring public, the city said.
