Madiejane Shaw, 93, of Fishers, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She was born November 23, 1928, in Noblesville, IN to Thurl and Ellen (Tucker) McKay. She graduated from the old Fortville High School in 1946 and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Butler University. Madiejane retired as a schoolteacher from Anderson Community Schools in 2001 after 32 years’ service.
Madiejane is survived by son Tony Shaw of Fishers, granddaughter Wendy (Shane Decker) Shaw of McCordsville, brother Peter (Pat) McKay, honorary daughter Cindy Jackson, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert M. Shaw, daughter Darcy L. Shaw, her parents, sister Kyra D. Perry and an older infant brother.
A funeral to celebrate Madiejane’s life will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 12:30 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
