FORTVILLE — A developer seeking a rezone for a proposed housing addition in Fortville plans to ask the town’s plan commission to delay its consideration for a month.
Carmel-based Pyatt Builders wants to develop 97 single-family lots west of CR 200W and north of the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation campus. The developer is asking Fortville Town Council to rezone the site to a planned unit development, which would establish specific development standards for the project. Before the council makes its decision, the town’s plan commission has to have a public hearing and consider a recommendation. The commission was slated to have the hearing July 26, but Fortville planning and building director Adam Zaklikowski said in an email that the developer plans to ask for a continuance to the commission’s Aug. 30 meeting.
