Business briefs: Town OKs annexation for housing developer

McCORDSVILLE — The McCordsville Town Council finished approving an annexation of about 155 acres onto the town’s northeast side where a developer has plans for as many as 275 homes.

The site is an undeveloped agricultural field at the southwest corner of CR 1000N and CR 400W. Fishers-based Premier Land Company, which first introduced the project, called Rivendell, to the council last December, is working with home builder D.R. Horton.

A maximum of 213 lots will have a minimum lot width of 80 feet while a maximum of 62 lots will have a minimum lot width of 65 feet.

New Pal chamber hosting golf outing

HANCOCK COUNTY — Registration is open for the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce’s 14th Annual Golf Outing, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 13 at Arrowhead Golf Course, 3974 Clubhouse Drive, Greenfield.

Registration is $80 per player or $320 per team. Range balls and box lunches are included. Register at newpalchamber.org. The registration deadline is July 1.

Hoosier manufacturers can participate in Best Places to Work

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana’s manufacturers still have time to take part in a new program that celebrates valuing employees – Indiana’s Best Places to Work in Manufacturing, organized by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce – which will honor those employers who are going above and beyond to support their workers. Hoosier companies can enroll now through late July to find out if their business is one of the state’s top manufacturing employers.

Winners will be notified in October, and the final rankings will be announced at an awards event Dec. 14 in Indianapolis.

Global report: Indiana hot spot for entrepreneurship

INDIANAPOLIS — Startup Genome, a policy advisory and research organization, ranked Indiana as a Global Top 40 Emerging Ecosystem in its 2022 Global Startup Ecosystem Report.

The report analyzed more than 280 entrepreneurial ecosystems, including 3 million startups. Indiana is also included in seven other subsets for talent, early capital funding and performance.
