FORTVILLE — Officials with the Fortville Police Department say they’re still looking for a man they say shot and critically wounded another man Sunday Afternoon.
The shooting took place near a home in the 300 block of Park Creek Lane, near West Staat and West Garden streets in the new subdivision at that location.
Officials were called to the 400 block of Thomas Point Drive, Fortville around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8 with reports of shots fired. Investigators took reports from witnesses who said a car pulled up to a house in the neighborhood in the 300 block of Park Creek Lane and opened fire on an individual there.
Fortville chief of police, Patrick Bratton said a man was shot in the face and was listed in critical condition as of Monday, May 9 at St. Vincent Hospital. That’s where the victim was taken following the incident.
The person who shot the victim is still at large, however Bratton and officials believe this is an isolated incident and there is currently no danger to the community.
