GREENFIELD
Teresa Lynn Ledford passed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 1 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born December 26, 1948 to Jesse and Leola Ledford in Connersville, Indiana.
Teresa graduated from Connersville High School, and started working at Fayette Bank &Trust in Connersville, Indiana in 1967 right after high school. She worked her way up through hard work and promotions and attending Loyola College, becoming VP and then President of the bank. She graduated from Mundelein/Univ of St Mary of the Lake and received additional training at Indiana University East. When the bank was acquired by National City Corp, she moved to Greenfield, IN as Regional Administrative Manager for NCB over 25 central Indiana branches. She retired in 2004.
She was an active member of the Indiana Bankers Assoc., National Association of Bank Women, Altrusa in Connersville, Red Hats, and other organizations.
Teresa enjoyed sewing and created many quilts for family and friends; she donated
much fabric to Unraveled, a sewing ministry at Park Chapel Christian Church as well as other missions. She also enjoyed card-making, reading, and traveling, fulfilling her life-long dream of going to Africa among a variety of other places. Other special times included seeing trick-or-treating children in her neighborhood at Halloween, greeting and treating them from her front porch. She also loved decorating her home at Christmas.
Through the years, Teresa helped her mother and many other relatives in any way she could. She also has left behind many good friends, neighbor Gary Powdrill, and many caregivers, including Susan Robertson and Cindy Woods.
Teresa is survived by her sisters Barb (Jim) Anthony, Linda Herron, Cindy (Bill) Glendon, Deb (Ray) Cummins, Vicki McCarty and brothers John (Robin) Ledford and David Ledford; nieces Michelle, Melissa, Tracy, Angela, Amanda, Autumn, nephews Jeff, Kevin, Tom, Rick and Mike, and many grand-nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her father Jesse Ledford, her mother Leola Ledford Rensink, her sister Sandra Wilson, and nephews Brian Anthony, Mike McCarty, and Steve Herron, and grand-nephew Bradley.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring in Connersville, Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory in Greenfield.
