4 more COVID-19 deaths for county

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county recently recorded four new COVID-19 deaths, including two residents in their 40s.

The fatalities raised the county’s death toll from the disease to 214.

Along with the residents in their 40s, the other people who died were in their 60s and age 80 or older, according to the Indiana Department of Health. Two occurred on Jan. 11 and two on Jan. 12.

The county also added nearly 300 new COVID-19 cases on Jan. 12.

Indiana reported 75 new COVID-19 deaths occurring between Oct. 18, 2021 and Jan. 12, 2022, raising its total to just under 19,400. The state also added 16,523 cases on Jan. 12, setting another daily peak for the pandemic.
