Julia M. Holdorf, 87, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born August 17, 1934, in Crawfordsville, IN to Foster A. and Mary A. (Smith) McMasters. Julia was a devoted housewife to her husband and children. She worked as a cashier at Kroger grocery store for a few years then retired to be able to enjoy traveling and spending time with her family

Julia was a “50+” year member of Harmony Homemakers/Hancock County Extension Homemakers/IEHA and served as County President from 1998-1999. She also participated in 4-H with her children showing sheep and entering personal exhibits. Julia also helped with the Mt Vernon Band Boosters.

Julia was a devoted Christian and loved to sing and play the piano. She taught at many churches over her years teaching Sunday school, choir and helping with the women’s group.

Julia was currently attending Geist Christian Church Mudcreek facility.

Julia is survived by children: Lawrence (Debra) Holdorf, Jr., Bonnie Holdorf, Cheryl Holdorf, Debby (Doug) Johnson, Jeffrey (Jodie) Holdorf, Charles “Randy” (Siriwah) Holdorf and Joseph (Marti) Holdorf; grandchildren: Dianna Holdorf, Johanna (Tim) Weller, Brian (Abbie) Holdorf, Lance (Allison) Holdorf, Jonathan (Samantha) Holdorf, Peter Holdorf, Gus Holdorf and Deetz Holdorf; great-grandchildren: Everett and Miles Weller, Noah and Elizabeth Holdorf; Tabitha and Tamara Holdorf; brother Foster McMasters and sister Mary Etta Boren, nephew Jim McMasters and niece Gwen (Greg) Dickenson . She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence “Larry” Holdorf, Sr and her parents.

A celebration of Julia’s life will be held at1:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Seals Funeral Home &Cremation Services, Fortville. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. In lieu of flowers Julia’s family requests memorial contributions may be made to Geist Christian Church Youth Mission 8550 Mud Creek Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46256, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
