GREENFIELD
Charles “Chuck” “Butch” Royce, age 81, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on January 24, 1940, he was the son of Michael Royce and Margaret (Coyle) Royce. He graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Ivy Tech College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1958 to 1962. Chuck married Katherine “Jeanie” Farmer on May 17, 1963.
Before retiring in 2005, he worked at Wishard Hospital as a Medical Records Supervisor for 29 years. He was a member at St. Michael Catholic church and enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Katherine “Jeanie” Royce of Greenfield; children, Patrick Royce of Indianapolis, Robert Royce of Greenfield, James (Denise) Royce of Veedersburg, IN, Nicole (Donnie) Kise of Greenfield, Dana (Daniel) Marsh of Greenfield; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Patrick Royce of FL, Michael (Roz) Royce of Indianapolis, and Timothy (Becky) Royce of CO; and special friends, Richard and Laura Quakenbush and Bridgette Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret Royce; and daughter-in-law, Jessica Royce.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating.
