Church plans special service before closing

GREENFIELD — Leaders of Greenfield Wesleyan Church say they were surprised when they learned their church would be closing.

But before it does, they want to take time to celebrate.

Sunday’s “Out with a Shout” service at 10:45 a.m. will include a memorial of people who have been part of the church, a baptismal service and singing.

A pitch-in dinner will follow the service.

The closing “was a sudden and unexpected turn of events,” according to a post on the church’s Facebook page. “We place ourselves in the Lord’s hands, seeking His direction and needed resources.”
