Howard Eric Pierson, 76, Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Golden Living Center, Brandywine. He was born on March 1, 1945, in Shelbyville, IN, to Howard Oliver and Julia Vivian (Wooten) Pierson. Eric is a graduate of Greenfield High School.

Eric was self-employed in maintenance, painting and doing yard work for others. He was also employed as a custodian at Lincoln Park Elementary School. Eric was a wonderful artist, specializing in oil and sketch. He would often draw and paint and enter his work in Riley Days, at times winning prizes and at times making others smile with his work of art. He was also a large supporter of Hancock Historical Society and donated a large sum of his antiques to their mission. Eric loved cats and square-dancing. He was a member of the Riley Wranglers and a past member of the Sons of American Legion. He was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Gayle (Gustin) Pierson; nieces: Margaret “Michelle” Repar and Rene Repar-Colip; brother-in-law, James Repar; step-sister-in-law, Violet Ramsey; aunt, Camilla Anderson Cramer; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Oliver Pierson; mother, Vivian (Wooten) Pierson Ramsey; and sister, Margo Repar.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, has been honored to assist Eric and his family during their loss. No immediate services will take place at this time.
