County adds 4 COVID-19 deaths, total now 175

HANCOCK COUNTY — Four more county residents have died from COVID-19, raising the total to 175.

All of the recent fatalities were men, two were in their 50s, one was in his 70s and one was 80 or older, according to the Indiana Department of Health’s COVID-19 data update on Monday.

Hancock County also added 126 new novel coronavirus cases over the weekend.

Indiana added over 100 COVID-19 deaths since last Thursday, bringing its total to 15,273. The state added 6,277 cases over the weekend, and its daily case counts have been declining.

Statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations are also dropping, standing at 1,861 for Oct. 3, down from a recent peak of nearly 2,700 in mid-September and down from a pandemic-wide peak of more than 3,400 late last year.
