HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Fraternal Order of Police and friends of Michael Cushing are putting together a fundraiser for the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department reserve officer who is fighting cancer. An event will be held at the Fraternal Order of Police, 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield, on Saturday, Oct. 9. All are welcome to stop by and make a donation to help Cushing, who has donated a great deal of his time to the department as a reserve deputy, officials said.

The event starts at 5 p.m. A live band will play at 6 p.m. Dinner will consist of pulled pork, beans, slaw and chips at a cost $10. All proceeds will go to help Cushing.
