New kids art classes set at downtown studio

GREENFIELD — Children can try an art class at a new studio in downtown Greenfield.

The Gilded Nest, 16A N. State St., is the site of the classes held by the new Hancock County Art Studio. Owner Michelle Kimberlin says children’s art classes are held every Tuesday at 4 p.m., and she’s in the works of designing new classes and programs for all ages — including a slime bar at the upcoming Riley Festival. Make-and-take craft kits available at library

GREENFIELD — A rainbow jellyfish craft kit is available to children ages preschool to grade 5 at the Hancock County Public Library. The free take-and-make kit is at the children’s desks of both the central branch and the Sugar Creek branch of the library starting Wednesday, Sept. 1. One kit per child is available, while supplies last.

Critter chat coming up at conservatory

INDIANAPOLIS — Meet resident critters and chat with a naturalist at Garfield Park Conservatory on Indianapolis’ near south side.

A free critter chat is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. The park, which includes a 10,000 square foot conservatory and three-acre garden, is at 2505 Conservatory Drive, Indianapolis.
