Carlyss 'Carly' Ann Soulier

GREENFIELD

Carlyss Ann Soulier, 67, Greenfield, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at her residence. Carly was born on September 9, 1953 in Richmond, IN, to Carlisle and Edith (Livelsburger) Soulier. She is a 1972 graduate of Richmond High School. Following graduation, Carly entered and served in the U.S. Army, primarily serving overseas in Japan. Carly worked as a letter carrier for the Nora/Castleton area for 35 years, prior to retiring in 2011.

Throughout high school, Carly could be seen playing many sports as she was an all-around athlete. She was even compared to and nick-named “Pistol Pete”. She also rooted on and watched the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions as well as Indiana University. Carly loved word searches, game shows, reading the bible, and being the envy of the neighborhood when it came to perfectly mowing the yard. Carly attended Little Flower Catholic Church for 25+ years as well as St. Michael Catholic Church. She loved her ‘adopted’ family and partook in many of their activities.

Carly is survived by her best friend of 30 years, Penny Loman; Penny’s children Stephanie Thorsen and Stacy (Mike) Zoller; Stephanie’s children: Jacob Thorsen and Ryder Thorsen; siblings: Roylene (Dave) Rosso, Anna Lawson, and Stanley Soulier; niece, Ashley Reece; nephew, Donald Lawson; great-niece, Kayla Hersey; and great-nephew, Ian Hersey. Carly considered herself very fortunate to call herself an honorary aunt as well as grandmother and her family will miss her dearly.

Carly was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Jamie Figuera and Gordon Soulier; and nephew, Jason Gray.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, has been honored to assist the Soulier/Loman families during this very difficult time. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140, with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery.
