GREENFIELD — A panel discussion about race and the justice system will be this evening (Thursday, July 8) at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield.

The forum, put on by the League of Women Voters, starts at 6 p.m. Attendance is free, and no pre-registration is required.

The discussion is a continuation of the community dialogue that began during the community reading campaign that focused on the book ‘Just Mercy.’ The book describes the unequal treatment of Black people in the courts.

Panelists will include Michael Cunegin II, a retired police officer and former member of the Allen County Council; Indianapolis pastor Charles Neal; Fran Watson, director of the Wrongful Conviction Clinic at IU McKinney School of Law; and Michelle Wade, a Hancock County prosecuting attorney.
