Mabel (Arnold) Coffey, 99, of the Fortville- Pendleton area, formerly of Beech Grove, passed away Tuesday June 22, 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 7, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Max & Esther (Binninger) Arnold.

Mabel was a graduate of Manual High School. She married the love of her life Lt. Colonel (retired) William Coffey on December 2, 1967 and they enjoyed over 35 years of marriage before his passing 2002. Mabel was a member of the Garfield Park Community Church since 1950. She was a proud member of the American Business Women’s Association and was named Woman of the Year in 1964. She worked for the Indiana Employment Security Division as a supervisor for over 41 years, until her retirement in 1979.

Mabel is survived by her son: William T. (Ginger) Coffey; nieces and nephews Patricia Arnold, Maxine (Pat) Griener, Pamela (Horace)Hickman, Carol (James) Arnold, Richard (Kathleen) Arnold, David (Mary) Arnold, Marcia Kirk, Cindy (Christian) Rentsch; and 20 great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above: her husband, Lt. Colonel (retired) William W. Coffey: siblings; Harold, William & Gilbert Arnold and Clara Marschke; nephew James Arnold.

A celebration of Mabel’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville, IN with Pastor Daniel Bowman officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 12:00 pm until the service begins. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date. Mabel will be laid to rest with her husband Lt. Colonel (retired) William W. Coffey.
