GREENFIELD

Caroline Mary “Sis” (Anderson) Weaver, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully with her husband and granddaughter, Amber, by her side on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Springhurst Health Campus, where she was beloved by all who cared for her. She was born in Aurora, Illinois on January 8, 1941 to Charles Matheiu and Mary Ellen (Twyford) Anderson. She graduated from Scecina High School in 1958. Sis married her kind, patient, and devoted husband, Robert Eugene Weaver, on February 12, 1984 in Greenfield.

She was the Office Manager of Anderson Family Practice for over 20 years, working alongside her brother, Dr. James Anderson and many lifelong friends. Sis was also the manager of Good Shepherd Lutheran Manor in Greenfield for several years, where she was loved and befriended by many of her residents. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was eternally grateful for the love and guidance the St. Michael’s School teachers and nuns provided her daughters. Sis volunteered for ARC; earned a black belt in Karate with her sister, Mimi; and was a former Miss Indianapolis and Queen of the Indianapolis Flower and Patio Show. If her big brother, Jim (who also gave her the nickname “Sis”), hadn’t slammed that pointer finger in the door as a child, she was pretty sure she’d have been a movie star. Sis had a wicked sense of humor and left everyone laughing and happy. She was a true and loving friend to all, especially to Kay Deck, her best friend of over 65 years. She never met a stranger and embraced all those who needed a friend, a confidant, or a shoulder to lean on. She was an avid reader, a fierce Bridge and Scrabble player, and she enjoyed dancing (Sis and Bob could out-Jitterbug everyone), traveling, modeling, crafting, and painting and building doll houses for herself and her grandchildren. Most of all, Sis loved spending time with her loud, large, and loving family. She was known at all her favorite restaurants as the “Keoke Coffee Queen,” and her servers ensured she had a generous helping of whipped cream on top.

Sis is survived by her husband of over 37 years, Bob Weaver of Greenfield; children, Kyle (Jeanna) Weaver of St. Petersburg, FL, Karla Adass of St. Petersburg, FL, Carrie (Kevin) Smith of Greenfield, and Katrina (Julie Gallutia) Willis of Lexington, KY; the father of her daughters, William Andrew Hodge of Bluffton, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Amber List, Anderson Smith, Samuel Willis, Augustus Willis, Mary Claire Willis, George Willis, Amy (Leandro) Coelho, Kyle Weaver, and Laura Adass; two great-grandchildren, Jocelynn “Jocey” List and Samuel Jackson List; siblings, Sally (Jim) Blanton of Indianapolis, Charles (Marcia) Anderson of Indianapolis, Mimi Anderson of Nashville, IN, Ketty (Mike) Dennison of Edinburg, IN, and Kurt Anderson of Tampa, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Anderson; brothers, James T. Anderson M.D. and Brent Michael Anderson; and infant granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Weaver.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
