GREENFIELD
Linda Carol (Branson) Hewitt, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born in Fairland, Indiana on November 23, 1939, to Harold and Ruth (Billingsly) Branson. She graduated from Fairland High School in 1957. Linda married Larry Hewitt on February 2, 1957, at Fountaintown Methodist Church.
She worked for Brandywine Elementary in the cafeteria for 11 years and worked in the cafeteria at Hancock Memorial Hospital for six years. Linda planted flowers at Wells Nursey for 11 years and at Barker &Ash Nursey for many years. She was also a cashier at Ranch Market and Schultz IGA for many years. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and Elks Club in Greenfield. Linda loved gardening and planting flowers. She most of all loved spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her children, Cheryl (Tommie) Harrison of Greenfield, Chelly Gracy Hall of Greenfield, and Lonny (Ceil) Hewitt of Brookville; grandchildren, Angela (Josh), Andrea (Robert), Nicole (Joe) and Ryan (Heather); great-grandchildren, Noah, Nathan, David, Lilly, and Cyrus; sister, Sandy Caudill of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Branson of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Branson; husband, Larry Hewitt; brother, Maurice Branson; and brother-in-law, Bill Caudill.
The family would like to share a special thank you to John Parsons and family and Ross Sherill for all their help.
Private family services will take place and burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery in Greenfield.
