Motorcyclist killed in crash near county line

SHELBYVILLE — A Greenfield man died after the motorcycle he was riding ran off a Shelby County road and crashed in a ditch.

James L. McKee, 58, was riding on Shelby County Road 600W, near the intersection of County Road 1200N, according to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department. The location is close to the Hancock County line; those are County Roads 500W and 600S in Hancock County. The crash occurred about 10 p.m. Friday, June 4, the news release said.

The 2016 Harley Davidson traveled down into a steep ditch, the sheriff’s department said. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle.
