COVID-19 death brings county’s toll to 141

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county recorded a COVID-19 death over the weekend, raising its death toll from the novel coronavirus to 141.

The victim was a man in his 50s who died on May 7, according to information from the Indiana State Department of Health.

Hancock County also added 33 COVID-19 cases over the weekend, raising its total to 8,279.

Indiana added one COVID-19 death Monday, bringing that total to 13,004; and 607 cases, for a total of 730,306.

As of early Monday, 31,531 Hancock County residents age 16 and older were fully vaccinated from COVID-19. Nearly 60% of the county’s 16-and-over population is at least partially vaccinated.

More than 2.1 million Indiana residents age 16 and older are fully vaccinated. Nearly 45% of Hoosiers 16 and up are at least partially vaccinated.
