GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Democratic Party will hold a virtual meeting on Monday, May 10, and will be joined by guest speaker Julia Vaughn, the policy director of Common Cause Indiana.

Vaughn will discuss the redistricting process, which is taking place this year following the results of the U.S. Census. The Indiana General Assembly will reconvene later this year to draw the lines of congressional and state legislative districts. Common Cause Indiana, a non-partisan organization, aims to educate the public and lobby the legislature on the issue of partisan gerrymandering, in which districts are drawn to encourage a party’s preferred election outcomes.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m., with party business following Vaughn’s appearance. For a link to the Zoom meeting, contact party chair Linda Genrich at (317) 586-8150 or [email protected].
