Downtown Indy venue gets new name
INDIANAPOLIS — Live Nation has announced that TCU (Teachers Credit Union) will be the new name-in-title sponsor of the popular downtown Indianapolis amphitheater formerly known as The Amphitheater at White River State Park.
The newly renovated, now permanent venue is now known as the TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park.
Over the past two years the venue, located in the heart of Indianapolis’ downtown, has been transformed. The TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park has a new look and has undergone major renovations, including a canopy covering new fixed seating, a permanent stage, updated artist and crew facilities, enhanced acoustic stage treatments, two new LED video walls for viewing, upgraded and additional public restroom facilities, an increased number of venue entry points and food and beverage service locations.
County unemployment slightly drops
HANCOCK COUNTY — The county’s estimated unemployment rate for March 2021 was 3.5%, down from February’s 3.7% but still up from the pre-pandemic benchmark of 3.1% in March 2020.
On a list ranking March 2021 unemployment rates for Indiana’s 92 counties from highest to lowest, Hancock County ranks 78th. Lake County tops the list, at 7.6%, while Adams, Daviess and LaGrange tie for the best, all with 3%.
Indiana’s estimated unemployment rate was 3.9% for March 2021, down slightly from 4% in February but still up from March 2020’s 3.3%.
A similar trend continues for the national rate, which was 6% for March 2021, 6.2% for February 2021 and 4.4% for March 2020.
Assisted living facility gets new leader
GREENFIELD — Elizabeth Patton is the new executive director of CrownPointe of Greenfield.
The Elwood native has worked in health care for more than 20 years and in administration for more than four years.
Patton replaced Carmen Bowling and leads a staff of about 30 at the facility, which has about 40 residents located at 831 Swope St.
