HANCOCK COUNTY – The Hancock County Master Gardener Association and the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District invite the public join them at 9 a.m. March 27 for a "weed wrangle" at Thornwood Nature Preserve, 1597 S. Morristown Pike. A weed wrangle is a volunteer event hosted to control invasive plants that are negatively impacting public parks, green spaces and natural areas. Attendees will learn to identify and remove invasive plants which are causing harm to native plant communities. One example of an invasive plant is garlic mustard. Research shows that garlic mustard can be fatal to several native butterfly species. For more information about weed wrangles, visit sicim.info/weed-wrangle-indiana.
