COVID death brings county’s total to 133

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county recorded a new COVID-19 death Thursday, raising its total to 133.

The person who died was a woman age 80 or older who died on Feb. 11, according to information from the Indiana State Department of Health.

Hancock County also added 11 novel coronavirus cases Thursday, raising that total to 7,428. Another 454 tests brought that amount to 86,150.

Indiana added 32 deaths, raising its total to 12,231; 962 cases, for a total of 664,446; and more than 40,000 tests, bringing that total to more than 8.1 million.

As of early Thursday, 15,172 Hancock County residents had received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 9,480 were fully vaccinated. Statewide, more than 1 million had received a first dose and more than 633,000 were fully vaccinated.
