County adds 2 COVID-19 deaths; toll now at 130

HANCOCK COUNTY — Two more county residents have died from the novel coronavirus, the state reported Friday.

Both were age 80 or older; one was a man and one was a woman. One death occurred Feb. 20 and the other on Feb. 21, according to information from the Indiana State Department of Health.

The fatalities raised the county’s COVID-19 death toll to 130.

Hancock County added seven cases Friday, raising that total to 7,399. Another 377 tests brought that amount to 84,352.

Indiana added 33 deaths, raising its total to 12,098; 963 cases, for a total of 660,071; and 40,541 new tests, bringing that total to almost 8 million.

As of early Friday, 13,665 Hancock County residents had received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 7,899 were fully vaccinated. Statewide, 963,225 had received a first dose, and 531,962 were fully vaccinated.
