Noble earns GSC Runner of the Week honors

For the third time this season, Lee University’s Christian Noble, a Mt. Vernon graduate, was named the Gulf South Conference Cross-Country Runner of the Week after winning his third race in as many tries.

This is the 10th time in his collegiate career that Noble has won the award during the men’s cross-country season.

Noble won the Gold Race of the UAB Blazer Classic on Friday with a time of 23:24.41. The second-place runner crossed the finish line 50 seconds later. His time was a second quicker than Arkansas’ Amon Kemboi, the event’s Green Race winner.

The time also set a new Lee record at the 8K distance. The previous standard of 23:27 was set by Noble at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Oct. 12, 2018.
