Cougars’ tee times set for golf state
The IHSAA girls golf state finals will be held Friday and Saturday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
The Greenfield-Central Cougars will tee off Friday on the course’s 10th hole, starting with sophomore Sydnie Wherry at 8:48 a.m. Junior Katie Curry tees off at 8:57 a.m., followed by senior Tandess O’Neal at 9:06 a.m.
Senior Haley Hoagland begins her first 18-hole round at 9:15 a.m. with senior Caroline Gibson opening last at 9:24 a.m.
Tickets for state are $12 per person. Two-day passes are available to purchase online via GoFan ticketing through the IHSAA.

Soccer Sectional Pairings Announced
Pairings for the IHSAA boys and girls soccer state tournaments were drawn on Monday night.
Both state tournament series begin with sectional play Oct. 5-10.
The boys will compete in Sectional 12 at Mt. Vernon with the host Marauders facing Greenfield-Central in the opening game.
Richmond and New Palestine play in the other opening-round contest. The winner between Mt. Vernon and Greenfield-Central will play East Central in the semifinals. The other semifinal will include the winner between Richmond-New Palestine and Shelbyville-Connersville.
The girls travel to East Central for Sectional 12. Shelbyville and Mt. Vernon open the tourney, followed by Greenfield-Central vs. East Central. The winners of both games will face each other in the semifinals.
New Palestine drew a bye and will play Richmond in the other semifinal game.
Times and days for each game are yet to be determined.
