Library offers take-and- make-it dress-up kits

GREENFIELD/NEW PALESTINE — Kids in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade can pick up a free take-and-make-it Dress Me Up kit to create fabric outfits for paper dolls all day Sept. 28. Kits, which include all materials and instructions can be picked up at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, or the New Palestine Branch Library at 5731 West U.S. Highway 52, New Palestine, while supplies last. One kit per participant. Visit hcplibrary.org for more information.

Stringed fun in Lizabuth Ann’s Kitchen

GREENFIELD — Melchior’s Marionettes will perform in Lizabuth Ann’s Kitchen behind the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home, 250 W. Main Street, at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26. The show includes a presentation on the history of puppetry, a display of puppets and a workshop for children. The event is free and open to all ages, but space is limited. One-Mile Smile fun run open to kids

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Parks and Elite Athletic Trend will host a free one-mile fun run for kids age kindergarten through 12th grade at 11 a.m. Oct. 3 at Beckenholdt Park, 2770 N. Franklin Road. Participants have a chance to win prizes during the walk. Call 317-477-4340.
