FORTVILLE — Mt. Vernon schools are holding a food drive to help local food pantries.
Donations will be accepted at the Fortville Municipal Building, 714 E. Broadway St., between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sept. 29 and 30 as well as Oct. 1, 6, 7 and 8.
The most-needed items are canned meat (tuna, chicken); canned vegetables; canned fruit; peanut butter; jelly; cereal; macaroni and cheese; and soup, canned pasta or stews.
Donations will go to food pantries at Fortville Christian Church, Vineyard Community Church, Main Street Pantry and Angel Connection.
