GREENFIELD — The Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen will remain closed for a third day after a volunteer’s possible exposure to COVID-19.
Park Chapel Christian Church will instead distribute meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 1) in the southeast corner of the Greenfield Christian Church parking lot, located next door to the soup kitchen. Each person can pick up a bagged lunch and dinner.
The soup kitchen shut down on Friday, Aug. 28, when staff learned a volunteer’s husband had been a close contact of someone who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Director Jill Ebbert said staff have not yet made a decision on whether they will reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
