NORTH FORT MYERS, FLORIDA
Charles Dale Soden, age 86, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Hope Healthcare Center in Florida. He was born in Union, Arkansas on January 31, 1934 to Carl Elmer and Treva A. (Combs) Soden. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Air Force. Chuck married Glenda (Gilmore) on October 8, 1983.
He was a supervisor at Indiana Bell for many years. Chuck was a member of McGregor Baptist Church and a former member of Indianapolis Baptist Temple. He was a 50-year Mason with the Indianapolis Keystone Lodge. He enjoyed shuffle boarding and was a hardworking guy.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Glenda Soden of North Fort Myers, FL; son, Dennis Soden of Indianapolis; daughter, Vicki (Thad) Kopec of Grass Valley, CA; two grandsons, Scott Bechman and Ben Kopec; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Dockins of New Palestine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Treva Soden; daughter, Carla Bechman; granddaughter, Amanda Bechman; and son-in-law, Randy Bechman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.
