GREENFIELD — After a months-long absence due to COVID-19, Courtside Ministries will resume its presence at the Hancock County Courthouse.

The group was given permission to resume its activities by the Hancock County Commissioners at their meeting on Tuesday, Aug. The Christian ministry sets up prayer stations outside of courthouses to reach out to people involved in the justice system.

Local team leader Debra Hickey said the ministry will be taking a number of steps to ensure they are not spreading COVID-19, including requiring volunteers with any illness or exposure to stay home. Volunteers will wear masks and gloves and will change gloves if they touch anyone while praying with them. Single copies of materials the group distributes will be placed on a table and replaced whenever anyone takes one.
