HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the Indiana State Police in cleaning up an accident on Interstate 70.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning near County Road 600E.
One person was trapped in a car but was rescued, said Capt. Robert Harris, the public information officer for the sheriff’s department.
Traffic in both directions on the highway was halted so a helicopter could land to transport a victim to the hospital. None of the injuries sustained in the crash are life-threatening, Harris said.
Harris said delays on the interstate would would mean heavier traffic on U.S. 40. Drivers were warned to use care while interstate traffic is diverted.
