GREENFIELD
Carl Otis Jackson, age 89, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Morristown Manor. He was born in Indianapolis on February 6, 1931 to Harry and Grace (Hand) Jackson. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer in Austria during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Carl married Bonnie Jean (Wilcutt) Clevenger on April 19, 1954.
He worked for Western Electric as a machine maintenance for 30 plus years retiring in 1984. Carl was a member of Greenfield Friends Church. Carl and Bonnie were inseparable, and they loved traveling together. He was very fascinated with genealogy and enjoyed visiting his grandchildren. Carl was an excellent storyteller and would always joke around.
Carl is survived by his sons, Mike (Melva) Jackson of Greenfield and Mitch (Kathy) Jackson of Casselberry, FL; four grandchildren, Jody, Julie, Tyler, and Sadie; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jaxon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Grace Jackson; wife, Bonnie Jackson; grandson, Jeffrey; and one sister and four brothers.
A private graveside service will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
