County adds 2 COVID-19 cases

HANCOCK COUNTY — Two more positive COVID-19 tests recorded Wednesday brought Hancock County’s total to 151.

Daily coronavirus figures for the county provided by the Indiana State Department of Health haven’t reflected a double-digit increase in positive cases since April 8.

COVID-19 deaths for Hancock County residents remained at seven Wednesday, and total tests rose 30 to 1,149.

Across Indiana’s 92 counties, cases grew by 341 for a total of 12,438 and deaths rose 31, bringing that total to 661. Total tests rose to 69,470, an increase of more than 2,200 from Tuesday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s updated COVID-19 figures for the U.S. on Wednesday showed 802,583 total cases, up almost 56,000 from the day before. Nationwide deaths from the novel coronavirus rose nearly 5,500, for a total of 44,575.
