According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched on Friday, April 17, to the eastbound rest stop on I-70, about three miles east of the Greenfield interchange, to investigate a report of suspicious activity.

When they arrived, deputies ran a plate check and discovered the car, which had three people in it, was a rental that had been reported stolen, the affidavit said.

While patting down Anderson, deputies found a glass pipe; a green tube; and two pouches, one of which contained nine syringes, the affidavit said.

Deputies also found a black metal box where Abraham was sitting. The box contained a syringe; a plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine; a metal pipe; 15 yellow capsules that were identified as Gabapentin, an anti-convulsant drug used to treat epilepsy; and a pocket knife, the affidavit said.

In the back seat where Buck was sitting, officials found a backpack. More drug paraphernalia and a cellphone that had been reported stolen were inside, the report said.

All three were booked into the Hancock County Jail and have made initial appearances. Bond was set at $1,500 for Buck and Marshall. Abraham was held on a $2,500 bond. All three were still in the Hancock County Jail at the Daily Reporter’s deadline on Wednesday, April 22.
