HANCOCK COUNTY — A birthday party sleepover with a friend turned into a nightmare for one juvenile who has accused a Greenfield man of molesting her.

Larry V. Todd, 30, Greenfield, has been arrested and charged with a Level 4 felony count of sexual misconduct with a minor from an incident on Wednesday, March 25.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident happened in a home on North Noble Street, where a 13-year-old girl said a man there had touched her inappropriately.

The girl, who was spending the night after attending a friend’s birthday party, told detectives from the Greenfield Police Department that she and Todd were alone in an entertainment room listening to music while others in the home had gone to bed. She told detectives she was sitting in a chair when Todd approached her and touched her inappropriately despite her pleas for him to stop.

Todd only stopped touching the girl when another juvenile came into the room, the affidavit said.

When she woke up the next morning, the victim called her boyfriend and told him what had happened. She also told her friend, who told the owner of the home what had happened.

The Department of Child Services was called, and the victim was asked to go with her family to Community Hospital in Anderson to have a sexual assault kit completed.

After his arrest on Wednesday, April 8, Todd appeared via video in Hancock County Circuit Court in front of Judge Scott Sirk. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf, and Sirk set a cash bond of $5,000. He also issued a no-contact order.
